A horror experience inspired by Welcome to the Game and Observation Duty. Monitor, repair, and survive the spreading digital corruption. Made with great respect for the original creators, this project is my way of exploring what I can achieve as a solo college developer.

About the Game

SYNOPSIS:

Find six hidden hashes across the dark web, decrypt them, and break into the Killbyte's Vault. Not every site has them. Not every clue is honest. And not everyone wants you alive.

Beware: The Hitman, SWAT, Dan, and Maria, Killbyte’s on-air predators, will stalk, dox, raid, and mislead you in real time. Every move you make becomes part of the show.

ENEMIES:

• The Hitman – Enters if you forget your entrance unlocked for too long. Manage your space. Keep the entrance locked. If he gets in, it’s already your mistake.

• SWAT – Storms in whenever you have more than six unreported anomalies. You must report anomalies and be “in the clear,” or they arrest you for murder—you’re being framed, and your negligence is their excuse.

• Dan (Rooftop) – Play his game. Get closer, hold your ground, wait for his breath, and he’ll be gone. Flinch or rush it, and you lose control of the encounter.

• Maria (by the Elevator) – Wants a game of proximity. Get close, let her catch you, then escape her choke. It’s a test of nerve and timing, not distance.

• Dark-Web Hunt – Browse in-game dark-web sites and locate all 6 hidden hashes to breach the Killbyte's Vault.

• Forensic Viewing – Watch the cult’s (in game engine) snuff videos and scrub frames, audio, and metadata to gather clues.

• Crypto Wallet Access – Use an in-game fictional crypto wallet to pay for gates, memberships, and tools across different sites. For the best immersion.

• Drone Router Drop – Order a burner router by drone to rotate your setup and stay “clean” while investigating.

• Active Threats – SWAT, Hitman, Dan, and Maria each follow strict rules you can learn and counter, ignore them at your peril.

• Anomaly Reporting System – Track and report CCTV anomalies to keep your count low and avoid raids.

• Wireless Maintenance – Repair and align your wireless antenna to maintain stable, clean connections.

• Original OST – A tense, original score that ratchets up dread and focus.

• Live-Action Performances – Original characters portrayed by live-action actors, blended with in-engine scenes.

WHAT DOES NETBREAK OFFER?

NETBREAK offers a 1.5 to 2 hour horror puzzle experience. You dig through an in game dark web, study disturbing clips for clues, and use grounded tools like a crypto wallet, a drone delivered router, and CCTV anomaly reporting while the Hitman, SWAT, Dan, and Maria push back. Logical puzzles and a spine chilling story keep the tension high and make sure every player experiences the twisted ending.
